Re: Help with trade token and button plus what I turned rings and clad into...
Congrats Jon! Way to spend that clad! Now go bury that half eagle somewhere, near my house!
If your "button" has a screw post or the weld spot from one on the back, it is a collar pin. Got mine at a point of departure for local troops headed off to the Civil War. It denotes infantry service. Mine however was two-piece as the crossed muskets were integral to the screw post that went through the button face. Not sure of the era for yours but I'd guess no later than the Spanish-American War era.
Some of the other militaria TNetters could probably get a better date for you.
Awesome good token, too!
Here's a shot of my collar pin with the heel plate I found a block away.

Thanks Tim!
There is a weld spot or what used to be a screw post on the back. I'll do some looking now that I know what it is. I am excited if it is indeed as old as you think it may be.

The address on the token "N. Clark" indicates it is after the street renaming in 1909-1911.

All jokes aside, congrats on that fine clad replacement.

Oh,
I actually pulled 6 silver from your back yard on 3 different trips in mid-late July, including a Barber. BTW I am up to 9 Barber dimes this year and 1 Barber half. I only have 24 silver, but a pretty good Barber ratio...

That's particularly why I limited myself to spending what I found from detecting. I have like $22 left, and my wife and I are going back today since she did not go with me on Tuesday. We may buy something small from a mint, like a British circulating coin set or something.
