Park Hunt - 8/21/11 - Silver, Indians and Another Interesting Button
Went out to a park Sunday morning. Was taking the detector out of the car and Paul pulled up who I hunted with a few hours until he moved on to the next location he was going to. Finds for the day included 2 Indians - 1896 and 1903, 3 Mercs - 1916, 1919 and 1943, 3 Rosies - 1946D, 1959D and 1964D, and a piece of a cut Barber Quarter. So I guess that makes 6.4 silvers for the day! My favorite find though was a vintage Postal Carrier Uniform Button. This is the same location I found the circa 1900 Chicago Police Button a few weeks ago. Also got 8 wheaties.

Nice collection there! That 1916 is almost a barber dime. What did the quarter quarter sound like? Cool button!

Quarter actually rang up kinda like a wheatie because there was a iron nail in the hole right next to the quarter but the etrac sniffed it out.

Sweet digs! Paul came out to feed skeeters with us in the SW woods where we were busy saving clad and tabs from loneliness.
Was that '16 really that shallow?!? Whoa! Great haul!

Yep, less than 1 inch. All the other old coins were 5 to 7 inches.
