snuck in a silver tonight and some other goodies!

not sure on this button (how do i clean it without damaging it anymore?). was unable to find the rest of that air gunner sterling but snuck in this '64 dime along with this rough button. not sure on the handle looking thing maybe something they would have held a candle in back in the day?

I may be wrong but I think your hook-like object may have been on a wooden stick and was used for opening and closing transom windows (the windows above doorways that were more popular back in the day). -Garbageman

very well could be. i only guessed at something like a candle holder. i just wonder how the stick would have been attached and held in place as there is no side screw or threading. i would picture a transom window to be really tough to open and shut (then again maybe not).

    Nice pile of old stuff!

Might try some naval jelly on that button.

No idea on that handle either but it would be nice if it's silver!

thanks for the replies guys! i will let ya know how that button cleans up. I tried the hot/cold hot/cold trick on the fully rusted coin last night and was never able penetrate the surface yet.. i will grab some naval jelly for that button tonight to see if i can work some magic on it.
