    Question for woods hunters

This may seem stupid but I cannot find any coins in the woods. I know i'm in the right area but just can't seem to find them. Do the leaves on the ground reduce the depth am I missing something?

if there are 3" of leaves on the ground i would think it could. maybe not many coins dropped there. i detected in some pines today and found no coins but plenty of junk.

As Mark suggested, only as far as the leaves are deep. If you're getting any blips, kick them things aside!

There were a ton of leaves where we were at yesterday but I still managed to find a 3-foot long section of steel plate down 6 inches!

    Re: Question for woods hunters

There were times that I would walk for a mile in the woods swinging and not hear a good signal.
If it's down there and you get lucky to swing the coil over an item, you should hear it no different then any other hunting.

    Re: Question for woods hunters

yea the offset of the leaves will reduce the depth of your coil (coil further away from the targets) so if you hear a bleep then kick the leaves away to get a closer signal.
