Best Barber in town
Went out for a few hours with D-Dub today. We hit a spot we've done well at before to get a "silver" fix, and sure enough we got it. My first decent signal after about an hour was a coin spill. It consisted of the '15 BBQ, '14-D BBD, and an IH I still have to clean up. Both the silver have incredible detail. Definitely the best condition silvers I've dug to date. Full "LIBERTY" and the Q looks to have some mint luster to it. Even the leaves on the reverse of the dime have detail on them. Also found the '17-D merc that is super worn. All in all a good hunt. Only 6 more to go to beat me record of 169 for the year. With these three, it puts me at 163. Enjoy and HH out there. Signals were great today by the way.

About 8" in a very trashy area. Trick is to go SUPER SLOW
Also have a video of this hunt that I will post on Wednesday.

Thanks. Wait until I post the video... I knew I had barbers, and even through the clump I knew they had some good detail...Just put them in a water bottle and took pics at home. Didn't want to risk scratching them in the field.
My best dug silvers to date too.

Re: Best Barber in town
Congratulations.....that is one stellar Barber quarter. Been a while since I have seen one that nice dug. I think watercolor had a real nice one a year or so ago. Those Barber quarters wore pretty quickly. Glad you did not scratch it while digging it!! That would of been a heartbreaker!
You have had one great year of some real nice coins.

Re: Best Barber in town
AWESOME Jon!! When you say SLOW, do you have to keep telling your self "SlOW DOWN"?
When you can score some nice goodies like that its worth the slow pace.

Sweeeet! Never got a BBQ close to that good and I've dug a ton of them over the years. Gotten many very nice Barber dimes but that one comes in right on top! Congrats!
Keep 'em coming!

The last one like this I saw was Watercolor's. His had some more mint luster remaining though. Glad I didn't rub it
