Hey everyone!I noticed when these coins are found with no date some people know what year they were made..How does one determined what year with no date on it?

I think it's time for me to buy a coin book to figure out what I have and learn key dates etc.Any suggestions? Thanks :icon_thumright:

Also went scouting today and found a sword sticking out of the ground :o I was waiting for someone's voice in the background to say ''There only can be one" as I pulled it out of the dirt :laughing7:

Hopefully the weather holds up and there will be some ice fishing coming up :headbang: reports from friends so far it's 2'' at some lakes at best..For now it's brew time and cheers everyone :occasion14:

I agree, the date on the SLQ is toast. Philadelphia mint between 1917 and 1930, inclusively.
SLQs without stars under the eagle were minted only in 1916 and 1917.
Don.......

Thanks Don for the SLQ info :icon_thumright:

You can also surmise it's Probabaly
one of the First years of the Type 2
Late Teens, early 20's.

Standing Liberty quarters produced between 1917 and 1924 tended to wear off, so that few are available with legible dating. The design was changed slightly in 1925 to correct this problem.

So Late 1917 thru 1924
