    Lake county Historical Archives

My house backs up to the forest preserve that these archives are located in, but I've never had the time to explore them because they are closed weekends and by the time I get home from work. I didn't realize that they have a lot of information available on line though. Thought this might be a good resource to those of you who live in the area and are looking for good places to hunt. I'm reading accounts by students at one-room schoolhouses in the area. Fascinating!!
