Are there any MXT people out there?

Just wanted to see how many people own a MXT and what they think of it. How do you set your settings?

    kad27,

I use a White's M6, which is pretty much a simplified version of the MXT (doesn't have three modes, but I don't really jewelry/relic hunt all that often anyway). The M6 also has a silent threshold. Both are nearly identical otherwise, including depth potential.

I love mine; I get a lot more depth than the standard Ace 250. I also prefer the 7 tones of the M6. It is pretty much a turn-on-and-go detector, ground-balancing is easy. Sometimes I don't even do that, lol.

My settings vary by location. If the area is really trashy, I keep the discrimination on 2. Or, when I'm hunting in the woods, I keep it on 1 and dig nearly all VDIs above iron. I get a lot of pulltabs and whatnot, but I'm not missing any jewelry in case I happen upon some. I almost always hunt with the factory sensitivity.

If you've got any other questions, let me know.
