After I fixed the Doofus' holes at the park.......
I decided to go to another area and give it a try.
This area I have had pretty good luck finding shallow oldies so the first signal I dug anded up being a '74 Memorial penny. Oh well, at least it wasn't a crappy Zincoln
I decided to work a section of the old sledding hill and my first target was a '44 Merc. at about 7" deep followed by a '44 Wheatie. Wasn't long after that the rain started coming down and I had to pack it in for the day.
The Merc. is in very good condition. Nice, crisp detail to it. Looks like is was dropped shortly after it entered circulation.

Thanks JD,
She is a shiny one.
That ground in that particular area is more of a humus. Nice and soft with no gravel.
Gonna have to get you over here to hunt it sometime.
