11" DD Coil
I just bought a 11" DD Coil for my F5, I was wondering where on the coil do you get a read out or hit. Is it on the top, middle or bottom of the coil as you look down on it when in position, Im trying to understand and get a better feel for my machine and get little better detecting targets, since I have only had for a month.

Re: 11" DD Coil
I use an F4 with the same coil. I have found the center to be just above where the shaft is attached to the coil. I still have to cross over the target from multiple angles while pinpointing to narrow down the target area. With a little field time with the coil you should get a good feel for the center.

Hi Marcus, This is the J.W. Fisher forum and you'd get more answers to your question at the Fisher Research Lab section. JW Fisher makes Pulse detectors.
The best way to locate you coils sweet spot is to find clean ground and try it with a coin on the surface. I don't X the target with a DD coil but use the "Minelab Wiggle" as it works with all DD coils. Once you get a signal, slowly wiggle the coil back and forth while slowly pulling it toward you. When the signal disappears, stop then slowly push it forward till you again get the beep and the coin should be just off the tip of the coil.
