    my fisher f2

Found a couple of wheaties last weekend, and i noticed that it would usally read zinc, and one of them read quarter. Is there a a way to set my machine so it will give a more accurate reading?

Also would uying a dd coil for the f2 give me more depth?

Depending on type of soil, moisture content of the soil, decay, etc etc etc.... All kinds of variables effect where coins hit.

Readings can and do change on ALL machines. Just not the F2. Wheaties can and do hit all over the place on all the machines I use. Just something we have to deal with.

If you get a good solid hit that doesn't vary a whole lot and sounds good, ya better dig it. Ya just NEVER know what you might find!

There is no way to calibrate the numbers on the screen by the operater. Besides if you could do it yourself, a coins depth, angle in the ground, minerals, etc. would all change the numbers on each coin. Best to just use it with duct tape over the screen and learn to listen to the sounds for awhile.
