I wanna know the dirt on the Oct. Chisholm Trail Hunt
As the title indicates, I read only a little bit of it a couple months ago. I live in the Wichita area and have beeped where the land owner thought where he thought the Last Chance Saloon was and got some interesting artifacts from so, it has got my interest up on this area. I would like to throw my hat in on the opportunity to have another chance to beep that area again. So, I would like to get the ball rolling with the chance to go there again.

Howdy Jason,
A lot of history was made on the Chisholm Trail. I would suggest you chime in on these CTH2 threads for information/updates/sign up. Hope to see you there!!

Interesting I would like to hunt that area also. The man that leases the land for farming does not want anyone on the Field. The owners do live in Wichita but I don't want to cause any conflict. If your talking about were the cattle pins were located I would love to hunt that to. Our hunt is near the east side of town where the cattle crossed into town.

Thanks for all the links, I have officially thrown my name in the hat as well as a fellow archaeologist friend of mine. We went there for the Museum of World Treasures a few years back and sent a scuba team to the well thats in the back of the old library but they found nothing and then we went went south (Oklahoma) of the creek/river to beep at the potential Last Chance Saloon area. I found a sardine can written in Spanish, a couple of pieces of silverware and a couple musket-balls from the 1500's that were identified as grape shot from some Spanish shotgun ie. Coronado period. All were validated by the lead Military expert from the Museum of World Treasure. So that pretty kewl.. Also found shell casings that would have be used in a Gattlin Gun operated by the 9th Calvary (IE. Gen. Custard before Little Big Horn cause he left them back here in Kansas before he headed to Wyoming/Montana). It will be a fun time to get back there again. Oh yea, i did muster up an arrow head on the OK side in another pasture.
