    how did they do this?

How did they create the circumstances where a different kind of tree grows out of a thong tree? Is it possible that this occurred naturally? If so, what are the odds?

What about how a different species is growing out of the tree?

Is the KGC known to have used a technique like this to mark trees?

this happens more often than you would think....I have seen this several times while in the woods...squirrels birds wind carry seeds and they get deposited in the crotch or depression in a tree....have seen oaks and maples growin from pine and cedar.....pines in oaks...flowers in oaks ....birch growing from pine stumps....
As far as KGC....dont know...I havent read or heard of that as a sign
I go a great distance, while some are considering whether they will start today or tomorrow

Yes, the KGC did graft trees. I have found many examples. If you look at this picture, this is a hootowl tree with 2 vertical branches. It is an oak tree with 2 beech limbs grafted on it. Not only do you see the rough oak bark and smooth beech bark, but you also see a distinct line where the 2 contrasting woods were joined. Carvings led me to this tree. It is in the woods 2 miles deep from the nearest road. That is a very interesting area.
    Good luck,
