Symbols found near creek

It may be telling you to triangulate from that position. Go south to another creek or ditch that T's or follow the creek you are on until it T's . The R is telling you to go in motion towards a T in something. The N with the long leg is most likely saying south. The W could mean a hill between two valleys or two creeks or it could simply mean west or a number of other things depending on the surrounding area. The X along with the W could be telling you West Ten places /yards , miles, feet? Or it could be further reference to the crossing of two lines in the triangle. The line with the hole in the flat rock could be referring to head into the sun from that point which could be east or west. There are so many variables it is not like a road map or anyone could find it. Looks legitimate to me. Could that possibly be the initials JJ on the flat rock? Very interesting considering you are in Jesse James' home state!
