FORREST CITY ARKANSAS AND IT'S TIES TO THE K.G.C.

Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest became interested in the area around Crowley's Ridge during the Civil War. In 1866 General Forrest and C. C. McCreanor contracted to finished the Memphis & Little Rock Railroad from Madison located on the St. Francis River to DeValls Bluff on the west bank of the White River. The route traversed the challenging Crowley's Ridge and L'Anguille River bottoms. The first trains came through in 1868 only three years after the war. Has anyone ever searched or found any signs or symbols in that area? It has also been linked to other identified K.G.C. members in 1800's.

Thanks, L.C.

When my dad was a kid ( he is now 91) he said there were rumors of lost treasurer in that area. Said he thinks he had an uncle that found some because he went from being a sharecropper to opening his on general store.
