Contour maps

Since many of the KGC maps make use of contour lines, does any one know when these maps were first developed?

If you are talking about Topographics maps, the late 1800s.

As the country was topographically mapped at different times, there is no one date for topos. Also, topos come in different scales and these will have different dates as well.
