There is this wishing pool as you enter the North (winter) enterance at Mohegan Sun Casino that i wouldn't mind having rights to for three months. Cladius.

hay Zeb they call them ''NIGHT HAWK'S'' and they are really giving this great hobby a bad name? :'(

You mean there really are people doing that? Huh, I thought somebody was kidding me.

I think that area has been off-limits since the 1800's but it wasn't until about the 60's that they got serious about enforcing the law.

What do you say Jeff? You know all this stuff.

The oldest wishing well in history. ;D Anyone know where I might find that?
Jbot, the world's largest wishing well is probably below the Lookout Point at the Grand Canyon. But you'll need a lot more than 3 months. ;D

Myself, I'd probably say the Yellowstone as it's been popular for centuries and no telling what's been left behind.

My top five in order of wishful thinking.
1. Area 51
2. Kokoweef
3. Rocky Face Ridge/Mountain
4. ShipRock
5. Oak Island

my bonus area would be Cocos Island

DigEm,
That's the one! I'm pretty sure the "Waterhouse Treasure" has never been re-found. I know that the Ridge is being protected by nunnehi for some reason, gold seems like a good one.

Guys don't mix words anyone who hunts property (usually historical) without permission with the intent to sell and profit like those mentioned are THIEVES! The are low lives and make it hard for the average Metal detector user to get permission in borderline situations. I would have no problem turning them in should I see them.

Hey Griz, Jbow is in Cartersville, he's new and I am sure he'd love to hunt that spot if you wanted company. Also, if you are on the five mile straight stretch between Rocky face exit and the first Dalton exit, looking down the south bound lane you will see a ummmm.... very perky mountain (how else would you describe it? Womanly?!?!). Now you'll never make the trip to Atlanta without "thoughts" in your mind!!! ::) Anyway, great hunting all over that mountain for civil war relics!!! ;)

ecdonovan,
you got that right. Any name you put on people desecrating a place like Gettysburg is too good. I would LOVE to be able to detect those great Civil War sites. Just detect, not dig. But because they say no, I don't. Some have no respect for anything therefore they ruin it for the folks who wouldn't mess stuff up.
I'm only a few hours away from you, maybe we could get together and hunt sometime?
