This sounds oddly familiar. I wasn't at your house last year was I? I found it that time and I will find it again!

Send me a message and we can make arrangements!

I live about 35 miles northwest of Philadelphia. You may email me if you still need the help. Weather is getting colder and days shorter now. If the distance is not too far, I would be willing to give it a shot. When emailing, please give the name of your town so I can get an idea of travel time. I have a good success rate of finding rings, but cannot make any guarantees. I never charge for looking, but gas money helps! - JHinPA

Be sure to let us know if someone finds your ring. An offer to pay for their time and gas wouldn't be outta line. Hopefully you will get someone that is honest and just doesn't palm the ring and tell you they had no luck. Why not rent a detector and give it a try yourself. The grass won't have to be dug, just the surface as it won't sink to the roots.

The OP only made the one post almost 8 years ago. Not likely you will get any response, but, good luck if you get the search. Small platinum will usually read foil.
