Get on this website. theringfinders.com and go to the directory go to California and look for a town or city close to this area, and give the person a call, maybe you can get someone down there to help you out. You can also try a local metal detector store if there are any in the area, they may be able to help you out.

I've tried them and a few guys have gone out looking, to no avail. I'm waiting for a winter storm to shake things up. But of course it may well have been found by someone also

I used to live on the Venice beach.
The current generally runs north to south. You may wish to look farther south than where you think you lost your ring.
