Help finding ring in NW Indiana

    Hi,
My friend's engagement ring was lost somewhere in her grandmother's house, just the day after she got it. (Very long and complicated story!) Two questions... 1. Is it even possible to locate a ring with a metal detector inside a house, or do all of the pipes and wires make it impossible? 2. Is there anyone who would be willing to help us look for it or give advice as to what sort of detector to use, etc., and how to screen out the other stuff? Thanks!

The directions for my detectors says "never turn on inside the house." I think there is just too much metal and it might overload it.

You should be able to use any detector. Set the discrimination to detect the type of metal you are looking for.
Garrett Ace 250 is a good detector with a Jewelry mode and can be set to ignore other types of metals

Hi Sarilou, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I think you may be in for a long, hard, old-fashioned Spring House Cleaning! Hey, your granny will hug your neck even if you don't find the ring.
