Had it tested today at MWM.... it was about 70 % zinc , 20 % copper and some other stuff,,,, but no silver... my retirement dreams "Swiftly" destroyed.
Babbit metal. Are there any old railroad tracks or the remains of auto repair shops nearby ? Once upon a time bearings were poured into their holders out in the field and the left over material would sometimes ooze out of holes and fall onto the ground and cool. I have found babbit metal on the ground frequently around old railroad depots.

I wonder if it was a burned up piece of coiled copper tubing from a shine operation? Would sorta explain the odd half coiled shape? Don't know why it would have so much zinc content though.
