    two central louisiana spots

I guess it's not really louisiana. LaSalle Parish. I have often wondered about Tullos Louisiana. It's 10 miles SW (?) of Jena Louisiana. I went to junior high there in 1991. It is an old oil boom town or something like that, and it is all but abandoned now. Lot's of old closed down buildings. i'm not sure how old any of them are, but there has got to be somewhere good there. I figure some people have hunted there. kind of like several years ago, i heard about people pulling into jena and asking directions to "the falls". the falls is where we used to always go swimming, and evidently there was a little bit of gold out there or something.

Wasn't Tullos originally a wood yard company town? I am thinking that most of the old houses were company homes.

Most of the old houses are long gone and vacant lots prevail. The company houses that are left are now privately owned. Find the oldest topo map you can locate, either court house or internet. They will show you where all the old houses were located. Good luck.
