Question about MD'ing in Louisiana

I will be spending a couple days next week in the Hammond area. I usually bring my MD along with me. Since I will have some free time on this trip and I have never done any MD'ing in Louisiana, I was wondering if anyone has any pointers or warnings?

Can you MD in public parks?
Can you MD on school grounds?
Any suggestions on good places to MD?

I always ask permission where evey I hunt.
Bring your rubber boots along Louisiana can get muddy.
