I don't have one yet but everyone seems to be in love with the new Minelab Equinox 800.
The XP Deus is also a top notch machine.

Welcome! It all depends on your budget. Aside from the detector, you'll need knee pads; gloves; a finds bag; a good digging tool; and maybe a handheld pinpointer. Look to spend another $150-$200.00 on these items. If you can afford another $550 - $650.00 after that, then you can do a Garrett AT Pro, or a Minelab Equinox 600. Budget a bit less? Look at the Garrett Ace 250; Fisher F22; Minelab Go Find 60; Whites Treasure Master

thanks ....i have been interested since that history teacher in white castle bought a detector and told me about the things he would find...i played around for while with an old sears branded(whites i think) coin master....found mostly nails and a junk
around the house...but now am really interested in stepping it up....we live amongst so much history in south Louisiana ....thanks for the info ...and for the welcome...


ps that teacher name was Mr. buckley....i really thought he would be on here some how..:headbang:
