I just started Magnet fishing. Does anyone have a strategy on finding good locations in your area? I know a couple starter spots in town but expanding is where I’m having trouble. Tried Google Earth but it’s hard to look at where streams cross with bridges, or even ponds that are accessible to public. Any advise would be helpful.

I would think that a good place to start would be near any place people launch boats. For example, I live in an area with several public boat ramps into a large lake. I drag my magnet through the lanes where boats are launched. Maybe you have a local park with an access area. As always, search under bridges.

Thank you for helping. I didn’t even think about boat launch areas! I live in a town that has a waterfall that runs through it... my only issue would be the current vs the magnet haha. I’ll try downstream first but yes, we have many bridges :D

I like boat docks and fishing piers. Then come the bridges that have pedestrian access. Old country swimming areas are good also. Look for the typical rope on a limb over the water.
