DIY Magnet Fishing

So I had the thought yesterday. Could you build your own magnetron fishing setup using the magnets from a hard drive? Has anyone through of this or tried?

Many have used magnets from micro waves but their success using them has been sketchy. If you want cheap magnets that work somewhat, go to Harbor Freight and by one of theirs. I have used both and believe me the commercial magnets seem to do a much better job. My thought is that the hard drive and the microwave magnets do not have the strength or contours to properly engage many under water targets. Good luck
