Makro Racer 2 erratic behavior

I don't know if this has been covered anywhere but my Makro Racer 2 suddenly is acting very erratic. Power on and the detector goes off and the numbers bounce all over the screen. I've removed the batteries, changed them restarted and connected and disconnected the coil. Nothing helps. Any ideas or should I send it in for service?

If you have another coil, try it out and see what happens. I had the same thing happen to me with my Minelab E-trac and it turned out to be the coil.
