I have two documents that I found at the bottom of a chest in my grandma's attic. I'm not looking to sell these. I'd just like to get it "translated". I know they're both English, but I can only make out about 1 in 4 words. I'd like to do some research on the people mentioned to find out if they're in my family line.

Here are a couple of pictures I took of them.

Thanks.

I believe you are going to actually have to scan the documents as opposed to taking pictures of them. A scanned file would give better detail and allow the document to be "translated" easier.

There is an option on Picasa (if you have an account) to download the full sized image. They are readable at full size. I could post them on flickr, I might have an account there, but I think they all reduce the viewable size online. I don't really want to scan them. After I took the pictures I was told by a friend of mine that I shouldn't expose them to any more light then necessary because the writing would fade. He said, "The Declaration of Independence is sealed in argon, housed in a dimly lit room, and a hundred years younger."

I would take them to a local museum to be looked at.
