I'm cleaning up a roll-top desk for a guy. I had to take it apart and of course some old papers fell out. The desk came from his aunt in Cañon City Colorado. Apparently this was used in a hospital in the 1930's. Here are the most interesting items.
I erased the names of the patients
The first is a hospital bill from 1941. You can see that prices have increased a little over the decades. For the price of an aspirin, you could stay a whole day!!
The second is a card that the physician fills out and sends to the U.S. Dept of Health to track communicable diseases. This person had Scarlet Fever in 1934.
The last item is a rationing token from WWII. It's made of celulose.
This stuff is more interesting than anything I've dug up this summer.
