    florida maps

I'm trying to find a map of pasco county florida from the early 1900's. I got jerked around by lost treasure online for a month and a half. I'm also looking for maps of hernando, pinellas and citrus counties. They need to be as detailed as possible. Thanks.

    Re: florida maps

You might start here for some historic Florida city/county maps:
    http://fcit.usf.edu/florida/maps/maps.htm

    Historic maps of Florida:
    http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/historicalmaps/florida/

History of Pasco County including Hernando County timeline link (no maps):
    http://www.fivay.org/index.html

Florida Sanborn Maps (select by County/year/etc.):
    http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/digital/col...ery/index.html

County historical/genealogical societies (they usually have maps available):
    http://www.rootsweb.com/~flsgs/societies.htm

For property ownership or more detailed historical county maps, you might check with the local Register (Recorder) of Deeds offices:

    Hope that helps.

Yeah, me too, thanks a bunch for the research info. I am on a mission to find a silver coin, Quarter, Dime, etc. I am convinced in some of the older areas of Miami Dade County there has to be a few laying around. These maps might help me narrow down a good detecting spot.

    Re: florida maps

osiris661, I lived in Miami about 15 years. I used to find some silver at Crandon Park in the 70's. It is illegal now. Isn't that in Key Biscayne? There are a lot of old parks in Miami. I used to find coins and tokens at bus stops with a small grass or dirt area.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines.  I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

    Re: florida maps

Thanks for all the replies. Seassellrtreasure2 I drive past the areas you named on a regular basis. I've known about those areas for quite some time just haven't had a chance to hit them. Every time I drive through those areas I drool the whole time. I have trouble keeping me eyes on the road.
