Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
Hi everyone, been a little slow in the marble section lately so thought I would share a few marbles I have found. I'm slowly learning to identify marbles but there are always some that are a mystery to me. These come from a bottle pit i would have to guess is from 1890-1930 maybe 40's.. Most are damaged but these ones cleaned up ok. Could someone point me in the right way to identify the makers? Thanks!

Re: Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
the first and last marbles look like Christiansen striped transparent, the second possibly akro, then master, then christiansen blue moon, the fifth marble needs more pictures to tell, but this is just a guess, road dog or duffy should be able to say for sure. They are the real masters on this forum.

Re: Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
Thank you wheelerite and duffytrash, I can see the resemblance to the makers now. Duffy, is there any chance you could post a picture of the #9 swirl? I hear about this identification mark quite a bit from reading the forum but have yet to see what it looks like. The Christiansen striped transparent marbles sure are very pricey are they rare? I'm sure I have more of them around here that look like the same type.

#1 doesn't look CAC. There appears to be a good size gap at the seams. Nice one though ,it's not American.

Re: Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
Would more pictures of this marble help or is it going to be too hard to identify because of too many possibilities?

Re: Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
Where the banding meets there should be no gap. The bands should touch together.Show a pic of both seams. I'm pretty sure (98% German) on this one. I like that Clear Slag looking (last pic)marble too.

Re: Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
The first picture shows the seam running horizontally very well. No mistaking it. The second picture, the other side of the marble, I can not find a seam?

Re: Bottle Pit Marble I.D. please
The other seam is in the clear area. Since the banding does not meet the seam is invisible. All the German ones I have seen are like this.
