Hi all! I am or have been traditionally a colonial relic hunter up till now! I have had great success and continue on that passion. Recently my 12 year old son and I discovered a huge and early town bottle dump close to our home. We have dug hundreds of early sodas along with medicines etc. along with the bottles are silver table ware and many beads. We have also come across a lot of glass marbles , which I know nothing about they are beautiful and Uncleaned. Can you help us identify them ? Are they rare? I will list a few at a time. Thank You for any info and or help you can offer! HH Dan and Jax... Hi Danno!

Wow, marbles from that timeframe are some of the most sought after and valuable. I think the first one is a fairly common akro, the next is interesting, might need more pics to tell what it is. The 3rd might be a Davis, little value. The last is hard to tell, it looks like there could be some specks of sparkling aventurine in the green ribbon. Not sure. Do the dark specks sparkle with a bright light shining on them?

Do post more, you're bound to have some valuable ones! Even the more common ones are good finds!

Ok... My son and I decided to sift a few 5 gallon buckets from the pit using a kitchen colander. WOW... It's amazing how many glass beads are coming up with the marbles and glass buttons!!! Do you know anything about these???
