Large marble from Detroit

I found this large marble while metal detecting in Detroit this week. Can anyone ID it?

Yes, that is an old Akro amber slag marble. Pretty close to 100 years old, which looks to be consistent with the other cool finds you got from the area!

Thanks for the ID. I know very little about marbles but I find them often especially in Savannah. I may start posting some of my marble finds. I’m sure like all collectibles condition is important but what kind of value would this marble have?

Yes, condition is pretty critical. Slags are old but unless they are an uncommon color, they are generally pretty common and don't have a lot of value in most cases. Your would be worth maybe 5 bucks if it was in good condition but in the condition it's in, it's not really collectible. Good for decoration or curiosity, looks great in a jar full of marbles and a conversation piece. Show more that you've found! You never know, maybe you've got some valuable ones. Some marbles are worth thousands!
