Hello jtw1313!

You have quite a variety of ages of marbles there, and makers. From modern Asian and Mexican to antique American. I'd say 1920s or 30s on the oldest up to post 2000s for the newest. I don't see any that are valuable from the one perspective offered in the photos but it wouldn't hurt to take more pics of the white/red/yellow/black one. There are some old Peltiers in the lot.

Here are some more photos of that one. It doesn’t have a polished finish like the rest and all the areas that seem to be black turn blue when light goes through

I see it's blue now, not black. It's a Vacor Michealangelo from Mexico, modern. The white one with a red patch is an old Akro, the green/yellow above it is a Peltier peerless patch. Some of the white with blue ribbons are Peltier rainbos. Nice group!

In the group of white based ones, the ones with 4 blue ribbons that run on the marble in a similar pattern to the stitches on a baseball... those are the Peltier rainbos, made in Ottawa, Illinois, probably in the 40s or 50s. The one with the red patch on it is the Akro Agate, from Parkersburg West Virginia, 1930s. The one with the yellow stripes is also a Peltier rainbo. The other ones with beachball looking stripes are Imperial Toy Company, from Asia.

It is pretty amazing that all these little balls of glass have distinctive traits that can be identified and attributed to a maker. To top that, some makers had different factories and further examination can often tell you which factory the marble came from! Marbles is a very complex area of collecting.

Those little black and white ones appear to be Akros too. If they are 1/2" or under, they are pee wees, not so common. Some more that stand out readily: In your last photos, there is a blue/white/salmon marble in the lower left. It looks like black base glass under the colors but if held to the light, it's probably dark olive. That's another Peltier, an older one called a MCR or Multi-Colored Rainbo (1930s). To the right of it is another Peltier... coke bottle green with white ribbons. That one is a 6 ribbon NLR or National Line Rainbo (1930s). Most of the large solid color shooters look to be JABOs (modern). The large multi color ones are modern Vacors. That neat aqua colored one with the greenish-yellowish swirls in it is a Vacor sea turtle.

Would you know anything about this marble

I have had this around for awhile

Yes, it's a decorated china marble. Pretty old, mid/ late 1800s to 1920s or so.

I love finding clay marbles it’s a extra special when detecting, but I’ve have terrible detecting days when a modern marble put a big smile of my face

I never found many while detecting but occasionally I would. I did find quite a few while hunting arrowheads though. Always a fun find.

NICE COLLECTION...HAD A LADY FRIEND THAT COLLECTED MARBLES AND A FEW WERE WORTH THOUSANDS GOOD REF. BOOKS AT LOCAL LIBRARY ON VALUE OF THEM .LOOKS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE A FEW WORTH LOOKING INTO. THEY ARE I.D.'d BY DIAM. AND MATERIAL USED TO MAKE THEM. SOME OF THE EARLY AGATES AND SETS ARE CONSIDERED PRICELESS. LUCK TO YOU.
