Swap Meet Marbles

After a morning of detecting my friend and I decided to stop at a local swap meet. After looking through the usual stuff people are trying to dump for a modest price I came across someone parting with a large bag of marbles. I know little about marbles but a whole bag seemed like a pretty good deal so I bought them (my friend thinks I lost my marbles but how do you lose for 5 bucks!) Anyway here’s a couple photos of just a sampling of the marbles. I was wondering how old and rare they are?
The largest blue with orange stripe measures 1 5/8”. The one next to it with the air bubbles in the center is 1 9/16” and the black speckled next to it is 1 3/8” in diameter. I’ll try to post more photos later today.

When i was a kid i used to use the small ones for my wrist rocket sling shot some of them look older

Well for 5 bucks it's hard to pass on a bag of marbles for sure. Everything I see so far is new though, Asian and Mexican. There are 4 that could possibly be older though, depending on more photos. The red/white and blue/white on the top row, the orange/black and the grey one on the second row. I think they are probably Vacors from Mexico and the grey one may be a JABO from the US, but need more pics to know for sure.

Thanks Cheese for your assistance. Here are a couple more closeups of the previous photos. The number of marbles in this bag is overwhelming. The bag is a bankers bag with probably 500+ marbles. I’ll post more a later of the more unique marbles.

Oh yeah, now you're showing the good ones. Stuff from the turn of the century and up. The blue/white one and the grey one in the first photos appear to be old too. I see Peltiers, Marble Kings, Vitros, lots of good stuff.

Turn of the century sounds great, the older the better!

Here are more I separated according to size. These are all close to 1” in diameter.

More that very in size and color. The large one on the left is nearly 1 3/8” the others very from close to 7/8” to near 1”.

Wow - someone sure lost their marbles for only 5 bucks. Nice rake.

These are different sizes of cat eyes. The top marble in the left photo is 3/4” the other 5 are 7/8”. All the marbles in the center photo are near 1” and the 3 in the right photo are nearly 1 3/8”. I’ve never seen cat eye marbles this big.

Your right Louie, I really don’t think they even went through the bag before they sold it to me.

I really don’t know what I have here with all these marbles. A lot of amazing colors and sizes. And I still have over a hundred of the cat eyes, clear and sold color marbles that I haven’t taken photos of.

The ones in post #9 are modern JABO classics, 1990s. The ones in post 10 are also JABOs with two Imperials mixed in... also modern.

Post #11 has a few modern imperials and some Vitros and Marble Kings plus the one brown one is a Peltier Muddie. It's the oldest of that group, 1940s or so.

The last post with the cateyes, some of those are older Vitros and the ones with different colored vanes are Japanese/Asian 1970s-80s marbles.
