Chesapeake Beach, MD?

Hey, everyone! I'm new to metal detecting, and I decided that since I'm going to Chesapeake Beach, I can just detect there! I do have questions, though, if anyone has answers.

1. Does anyone know where any of these were - the casinos, the old Belvedere hotel, and/or the roller coaster?
2. Has anyone ever MD'd at Chesapeake Beach before?
3. If so, were you successful?
4. Any tips?

I remember as a kid my dad would take the family every year to either Chesaeake Beach or North Beach. He used to use his metal detector at the beaches. I do know he found a gold ring once. That was almost 30 years ago. I don't know if detecting is even allowed at those beaches now as I have not been back since.

I know it's allowed at North Beach, which I might be going to instead (at this point, I'm not clear on which beach my family's going to). Might have found MD on craigslist...will have to wait for response from seller!

Chesapeake Beach is Private Like so many of the older beach's of Years Past, North Beach you can hunt and there is some history there. Not sure if they charge admission during the winter but they do during the summer. Once the Chesapeake Bay Bridge opened, just about all of the Northern bay beach's closed because many headed for the Ocean Beach's. Sad because some had beautiful white sand ...

This is one of the white sand beach's, they trucked the sand in...now gone totally and a Marina, All were packed on Summer weekends

Another thing to do at North Beach is to look for fossilized shark teeth that wash up on shore. They are typically small, but it is still fun to hunt for them.
