Who told you to "get out"? I live right in "Hazard" County and have never heard that. There is some of the oldest history in the USA here. I have found numerous spots in the middle of the woods that are hundred of years old. I just ask the property owner and 99% OF THE TIME I GET A YES! I live right by the Bush river between route 24 and 543. LOTS of neat stuff around here. Good luck.

From an e-mail

"Thank you for your inquiry about metal detecting in Harford County Parks.

Unfortunately, metal detecting is not permitted in our parks. It is my understanding that there were many problems in the past and they no longer allow it."
