I am always getting caught out at dark still detecting so I decided to make this holder for a small flashlight on my detector; It consists of 4 grip clips used to hang brooms or mops 2 rivets and a zip tie to snug it up. The grip clips get riveted back to back, 100_4152.JPG 100_4153.JPG 100_4154.JPG 100_4155.JPG 100_4156.JPG here are pics hope some of you can use this.

Really cool idea. Where do you hunt at night? Have you been out to the gold fields with the AT yet?

I just always am out late and needed light although I sometimes go out to the rest areas on the freeway at night. Hadn't had a chance to go out to the mountains yet have done some lake and river hunts with it though, it works great in that mineralized ground. Would love to get back to my hometown of Julian Ca. with it though, the possibilities are endless there.

Great job and economical too. I saw some nice tactical flashlights at Walmart in one of those center isle displays. The lights come with a clamp on bracket that would look good on a metal detector too. Price is a little hefty at around $30.00. I rigged up a clip on book light to use on my AT Gold for illuminating the digital display in the dark.

yeah it only cost me 4 dollars not counting the flashlight to make and I need to get a booklight for my screen that was my next thing on my list lighting the screen.

I made a velcro strap to wrap around shaft so could clip book light to it

The headlamp does work also I just found I didn't like headphones and a light strapped to my head also it was too much. My flashlight can be removed easily if I want light in another position whereas with the headlamp you would need to remove headphones then headlamp and then put headphones back on to re-scan hole.

I can understand that, personally can not wear over ear head phones as I wear glasses.. In-ear isolation head set is the way to go if you don't like the ear muffs! Head light is my most favorite flash light.. wish I had one back when I was an auto tech.. wait they didn't have LED head lights in the 80s and 90s :BangHead:

i also have one of those lights that clips on to the bill of a baseball type hat. I don't usually wear a hat though. I could rig it up to do the same thing as a book light.

I use a bike light holder it's for the handlebars and fits the detector shaft perfectly and the led light that harbor freight gives away fits great.
light holder 1.jpg light holder 2.jpg
They cost $2 to $5 on amazon
