I meant John Edmonton; he's the guy that has found hundreds of rings. More experience than anyone I know of.
The small 8" mono coil does great with tiny targets and chains give off a funny sound. Funny sounds should always be dug, as that's what our toonies, loonies and very oxidized silver rings sound like. If you only want to look for old silver coins, old copper pennies and silver rings, dig only the low-high signals.
