i have been metal detecting for 6 years now. i don't belong to any clubs or have i been educated by anyone but the booklet that came with my ace 250. i am careful to follow all & any local laws. Reno parks department requires a FREE permit to detect in the city parks. personally i would not mind paying for the permit, just to help them. i clean as i go. i carry a small trash bags with me and pick up all trash and/or dangerous item. i try to keep our parks clean. i am looking into local clubs for more hunting possibilities then the local parks. don't get me wrong i have found some very nice finds at the parks
