  • Hi Dan and thanks for the condolances. That is why I have my own claims, you can make it personal and put your own touch to it. I talked to the guy I told you about last week but I didn't ask him about a claim. His cell reception was so bad it was hard to hear him. Next time. He is also the guy I am helping to organize a new GPAA chapter here in the Hills. Our fiert organizational meeting is Jan 11, 2014 at the Deadwood Grand at 9:00 am. You will get a card about it since you are GPAA.
When you talk to the BLM they will need to know range, township, section, and quarter section. Example would be: R4,TWP7, SEC 23 SWQTR. Get a topo map of the area. All that info is on there, you just need to figure out the quarter part. If you have any questions let me know. My phone # is 393-8148. Evenings is best time to call. No need to always use this messaging stuff.

    Hi Dan,
I was just thinking of you today and was going to get ahold of you. Things haven't been real good. My dad passed away last month and that took up most of the good mining weather, then the storm. This weekend I'm helping my freid in Rochford cut firewood. I will keep my ears open on claims for sale. I do know a guy who helps keep an eye on my other claim, he has several claims. I'll try to get ahold of him and see if he has any nhe might be interested in selling. Glad to hear about your job. Now you can keep mining. By the way I have a different pickup. It is a dark green Chevy Silverado with black tool boxes , so you won't see my olf Foed Ranger. If i have any news I'll let you know.

    Hi Dan,
Sorry for the delay in replying. Been busy with new job working late then home chores and to bed. Haven't been on much as of late. Probably won't be out this weekend. Daughter is coming home. Didn't get camping but did have a good anniv. weekend. Congrats on job and GPAA membership. If we can't get together this summer when you come back in sept. we can.
Check in if you will be here and maybe we can yet this summer.

I'll tell you what, since you are not a gpaa member I will take a weekend day sometime and take you to the Maryann as my guess for a day. If that goes well I will take you on my claim for a day and see how that goes. I will then discuss it with my partner who just happens to be my wife and see if we can work something out. We are very particular on who we let on any of our claims. We very seldom allow anyone on our claims. We'll leave it at that for now. It's not a yes but it's not a no either.

Right now not as much as I usually do. By now I usually have been out a dozen or more times. This year only 3 times so far. First time this year I sent the cons to a 10 yr old boy in Cal. who wants to learn mining. I am hoping to get to Mystic Sunday. Isn't google a great tool? Maybe I'll see you in the field some time.

Well Dan it all depends on what kind of material we are running. Lately it has been from the upper part of the hole we are working so the gold is a little sparce. The material has to be moved anyway so we run it to get what gold is in it rather than toss it off to the side. Once we run material close to or on bedrock we can get 1/4 to 1/2 a gram or better from a dozen 5 gallon buckets of classified material. If there is anything else I can help you with let me know.

Ps, just curious how did you know who I was on the forum. It isn't on my claim signs.
    Hi Dan,
Where you see a sign on the tree as you walk up the road coming off the Mikkelson trail is the southern boundry of my claim which runs all the way north to the top of the ridge above the George Frink Rd. Boardering on the south of my claim is the GPAA Maryann claim. You need to be a GPAA member to dig there. On the east side of my claim is the Missouri Breaks claim owned by a fellow in Gillettte WY. I hope this helps and thank you for checking with me before just digging.
