Try Black River Beach, Pettibone, and the best beach by far is Lake Wazee (bout a 45 min drive), but can only go during off peak seasons.
If you're looking for relics, do some research and see if you can find some historical places along the river. The place has been a route since the 1700's. good Luck to ya!
