I checked out your project. That is really cool.
I like projects like that myself. Let me know how yours works out.
The ground here is pretty frozen, but I have been getting out to see what I can find.
Looks like you have been pretty successful! Ring, Token , and a mess of coins.
I just got my AT Pro right before Christmas. Bad time of year to buy an MD!
I think a buddy of mine and I are going to go South (Colorado) to try our luck.
    Take care.
Thanks for the welcome nobootyyet! I am still trying to figure out the finer details of my at gold so I will be ready when the ground thaws! I will keep you posted on anything cool I find. Paul
Hey NBY..I live just north of Bham. Not too far from the Gardendale area. To answer your question about the Exterra 705...awesome machine! If you purchased one, you would not go wrong. It is at the pinnacle of VLF technology. Very capable and versatile detector. I have one and will never part with it. It has helped me find some awesome stuff in a lot of different type hunting environments. It's not very hard to learn either. A bit of reading and just getting out and learning the machine....you'll be good. As far as hunting places...your best finds are most always gonna come from old places. Anywhere people lived or gathered over many years, a long time ago. TR
Welcome to Treasurenet. I would suggest detecting in the woods near a park or old quarry. Most of my finds came from the woods. Quarry Hill park was one good place and Oronoco park Mn. was very good . Most of the mowed areas have been worked but not to many like the woods. Good luck
Thanks so much for the greeting. I am using a Garrett gta 350. It is on loan from a friend that is teaching me this hobby. I hope to purchase a good machine soon. How long have you been into it? Do you have a lot of success? What do you suggest to newbies?
