My Dad R.I.P.
Hello All,
My father passed away yesterday morning and even though he did not metal detect, he loved seeing the things I found and would often talk about how he wished he could go with me. He had a heart attack and it left him paralyzed from the chest down about a year before I got serious with detecting and his quality of life has not been well for some time since. He would get a kick out of all the stuff I found and I bought him a laptop and showed him this site and he loved it. He would spend hours looking at all the different finds and stuff people would post. He just couldn't believe all of the neat stuff that was in the ground. His favorite tv show was the Cash and Treasure show. I wished we had it to do over again but life goes on so all we can do is keep on truckin'. I've said alot of prayers these past few days such as asking for guidance to do the right thing as far as seeing that his wishes were met when the time came and to make sure he was comfortable and all and I feel like everything worked out for the best and I'm ok with it all and I know it is a blessing for him to have passed because he no longer wanted to live like that. Tomorrow I am gonna get up and go detecting alone and just try and relax my mind. I know I really won't be alone because he will be there with me. Maybe I'll have some good luck.
If you all could please say a small prayer for my little sister Wendy(well she's 32 but still my little sister) because she is taking it real hard. Her and my father were real close at one time and since he's been sick she hasn't been able to bring herself to go see him in the condition he was in but just a couple of times and now not only is she upset because he's gone, she is feeling guilty because she wasn't there for him(her words). So if you could or would, please remember her in your prayers.
I know that prayer works so I figure the more folks that say a little prayer, the better she'll be.
Thank You,
Ed

My Dad

I know how you feel ED. I lost my dad nine years a go and it still seems like he should be here. There was a lot of things I never got around to talking to him about and I regret missing out on a lot of knowledge he had if I had just asked. I miss him a lot. M nty

Your family is in my prayers. I couldn't bear to see my mom in pain and in her condition either. Its very hard and even under the best circumstances everyone will still have regrets, thats just part of life and death. You just gotta love em while they are here and make sure they know you do.
I hope your hunt goes well and I am sure your not a lone

My father passed away in 2006. Not more than a few months after I finally talked him into going detecting with me. All he found was pull-tabs. Now every pull-tab I find is kind of special to me.
As for your sister, it’s really hard to see a loved one in the last days of their lives. I had a hard time visiting my Father when he was in his final days. Call it denial or whatever you will, but it happens more often than you think. Tell your sister not to worry, he knows she loves him. My payers are with you and your family.

Re: My Dad R.I.P.
My heart goes out to you and your sister. A lot of fathers and daughters have a special relationship. Give her as much time and support as it takes to go through the grieving process. I lost my mother and father within 4 months of each other. We all get through it.
