An American hero has passed away...

"Richard "Dick" Winters, a decorated hero of World War II and the central figure in the book and miniseries "Band of Brothers," has died. He would have turned 93 years old in February." (Source - CNN.com)

It saddens me this Great American is now gone. May he rest in peace.

Yet, with all this, he was still a humble man.
For example, he didn't want his death publicized until after he was buried.
And the impression I got from the series was that the true heroes were those who didn't return; the humble ones who did return considered themselves 'survivors'--like 'Richard Dick' Winters

It is a sad day for this nation when someone of this character passes away.
