..but today it seems like it was just yesterday. I miss you buddy.

My dad was one great guy, and the best friend any man could have ever
asked for. He taught me about important things in life...honor, respect
and what a man's word meant.

He loved to fish, and other than a few adventurous, gold chasing forays
afield with me, fishing was what he wanted to do in his spare time. He
lived a good, long life, and was always there to help others any time he
was called upon.

By their request, both his and my mothers ashes were cast into the upper
rapids of the very river that flows behind my house. Now, when I walk
that riverbank with pole in hand, I know the old mans hanging around there
watching, and every time I cracker a fish off (lose one) it seems like I can still
hear him laughing his arse off.

Pic of dad and me from back in '06. These were a couple of Coho salmon
that we caught off our beach..

I do hope that, after he passed he waited until the boatman got
him to the other side of the river before he hopped out, cracked
open a cold Coors and wet a line. :occasion14:
