Re: In Memory of Tommy Graves ~ Blue Shadow

Saturday was Tommy's memorial and I was here in Michigan, not there, but I wrote a poem in his honor. Miss ya buddy!

(for Blue)
One To Remember

Carve an epitaph
in the blue air
of first light,

breaths rising,
evaporate like words
taken far away

by a complicated breeze
showered in emotion,
wish for nothing

but to plunge
fingers of discovery
into cool soil below,

this trampled earth.
Filter past regret
the treasured touch

of dream’s desire
among the risen,
above the lakes

of fleeting summer rains,
faint the voices echo
this somber dirge we know.
