I just follow my nose!...where the silver and gold goes!

XRF spectrometer, Common sense.

I am really starting to like this metal detecting for gold thing. ok, not as big and grand as some, but more gold is more gold!
two more to add too the stash!
I am thinking I should upgrade my machine, I am using a 15 year old gold master V/Sat, and thinking of going to the GMT.
Any advice? I have heard nothing but good about the GMT localy. what have others of experience thought of this machine?
Is it worth plopping down the cash for one?

I think the GMT is totally worth it. I got one in July and I have about 50 hours on it up in the area we were talking about before. The two forms of iron ID are very useful in the mine tailings, they really help you use your time more wisely.

ABSOLUTELY !!!The G.M.T. is worth every penny, just like any detector you must master it but it will find smaller gold than you will want to dig.The Minelabs have it beat for depth but well, the price difference.I have also noticed the Minelabs dont do as well on quartz specimen type gold as the G.M.T..Also I would watch E-Bay as people seem to buy detectors and think they are going to go out and find gold laying all over,or get tired of digging nails, lead etc. and up for sale goes the detector!!
