    Re: goldmaster 2 ?

cm5838 - the gm2 is ,i believe, the oldest of the real gold detecting machines by whites. i have the goldmaster v/sat which is a slightly newer version. a year ago some of the techs at whites were still using the gm2 as their choice of detector. i was finding birdshot at between 4 and 6 inches. in fact i found all kinds of small metal bits and pieces but no gold. i went to the factory at sweethome, oregon and had a tech there check me out on it. he assured me that if a piece of gold ever got under the detecting head that i would get it. this spring i bought a new mxt. i have found quite a few coins, a ring and a couple of medallions and some pesos. i haven't been out looking for gold yet this year but i haven't given up hope yet. if the gm2 is in good shape - it will detect gold and it will detect a piece of gold half the size of a grain of rice. wayne
i don't know whether or not i ever had a password for this net address. i did have a number to enter messages to this net. wayne

    Re: goldmaster 2 ?

I know this is an old post.... I have a Gold master 2 Vsat and it is one sensitive machine. I have found bits of wire as thin as this period . and no longer than a quarter inch. If a piece of gold gets under my searchcoil, I won't have a problem recovering it.

I gave up searching in town with this unit, it about drove me nuts! A dinky little piece of tinfoil off a gumwrapper will set it off. I now have a CZ for coinshooting, while the Whites is my favorite for gold areas.

You can pick up these machines fairly inexpensively these days, and they are well worth it!
