    Another New guy

Just found this site a couple of hours ago - what a great forum, well done to all the Mods etc.

I am very keen to buy a detector for finding very small gold nuggets that occur in my area. Looking through the forum Fisher Gold Bugs seem to be a popular choice. My finances are limited so I am looking at a used Gold Bug 1 but not too sure that these are not really outdated models. Is there a lot of difference between the GB1 and the newer GB2. Should I pass on the GB1 and start saving for a GB2 or is the original model still quite a good machine.

I also note that Garrett make an MD that is suitable for gold prospecting - I think it's called a Gold Scorpion - how do these compare with the Gold Bug 1 & 2.

    Thanks for any help.
